Basel Action Network Encourages Companies To Dispose Technology Wastes Responsibly

October 26, 2014: 12:00 AM EST
Basel Action Network launched its e-Stewards Marketplace, an online platform designed to help businesses find certified recycling partners for their obsolete or damaged technology equipment and devices. Featuring registered buyers that are approved e-Stewards operations, the marketplace also allows companies to trade scrap materials and sales of refurbished computers and other electronic equipment. In the United States, IT users generate about 3.4 million tons of electronic waste each year, with the consumer electronics industry collecting 260 million pounds in 2013.
