L'Oreal USA Cuts Carbon Emissions By Half In 2014

L'Oreal USA said it reduced its CO₂ emissions by 50 percent in absolute terms by the end of 2014, compared with a 2005 baseline. As part of the company's Sharing Beauty With All global sustainability initiative, the company intends to have 100 percent of its product with an environmental or social benefit and 100 percent of strategic suppliers evaluated in terms of their social and environmental performance. Also, the program seeks to reduce carbon emissions, water consumption, and waste per finished product by 60 percent. Also, to support the program, the company invested more than $35 million to expand its use of renewable energy, including the installation of solar energy system across many of its facilities.
