Social Impact Businesses Can Turn To Unilever Foundry For Support

November 23, 2015: 12:00 AM EST
Social entrepreneurs, or “social impact businesses,” pursuing sustainability projects can now advance their ideas by partnering with Unilever’s Foundry, where they will have access to mentors, partners and funding. Social entrepreneurs or researchers may submit solutions to a new wave of Foundry challenges and receive technical and operational support and grant funding up to £250,000. The businesses will participate in Unilever’s Transform initiative, focused on water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) and energy solutions for low income households in developing countries. Transform is a result of a partnership between the U.K.’s Department for International Development (DFID), the Clinton Giustra Enterprise Partnership (CGEP) and Unilever. Its goal is to create jobs, increase incomes and improve the health and wellbeing of 100 million people in developing countries by 2025.
